Planning permission

Since 2011 most domestic wind turbines will not require planning permission, as long as some limits and conditions are respected.

For full details of the planning permission rules use the planning portal. We would also advise checking with your local council if planning permission is needed. It’s also good practice to speak to your neighbours at an early stage to smooth over any initial objections.
